Over all Health: The best advice is being highly aquainted with your bulldog. Monitor his eating, if he is playing normal, or if is dispositon doesn't seem quite right. There are small ailments that could be treated at home. After 2 days, if the problems still exist; take the dog to the vet. Also remember there are some medical conditons which can not be treated at home. Whenever in doubt, take your bully to the vet.
Life: The average life expectancy for a bulldog is 8 to 10 years. Keep in mind, there are many bulldogs who live beyond that time.
Water: As stated above, Bulldogs need to be indoor dogs. Bulldogs are unable to swim and extreme caution should be taken when a bulldog is around water in order to avoid drowning. However, a few inches of water in a kid's pool would be something a bulldog could tolerate.
Exercise: The bulldog appreciates daily outings but again, this breed can't tolerate hot, humid weather. Do not expect your bully to jog or walk long distances, or to jump. Bulldogs should not romp with the kids during warm spring or summer days. When the temperature reaches above 80 degrees, the dogs should have an air conditioned area. Also, if your bully pants too violently for a prolonged period, the throat can dry out and swell, leading to heightened breathing difficulties.
